Chapter Organization
During the early 1920s, Mary Kerr Spenser, North Carolina State Regent, requested the formation of an additional chapter in Winston-Salem. Susie Barbour Jones became the organizing regent of the Old North State Chapter NSDAR in 1922. The new chapter’s organizational meeting was held January 18, 1924, with 37 charter members.
